The American Brain Coalition

For the past three years, the ACNP has been an Organizing Member of the American Brain Coalition (ABC), a non-profit organization comprised of the United States' leading professional neurological, psychological, psychiatric associations and patient organizations. While the ABC is a young organization, they have established a presence in Washington, DC, and are working to become a strong voice for the 50 million people with disabling brain disorders.

Many of our affiliate members who share in these concerns are also members of the American Brain Coalition, making it easier to work together to further the understanding of the functions of the brain, and to reduce the burden of brain disorders through public advocacy. By collaborating on our efforts, we can be a stronger advocate for increased support of research that will lead to better treatment; services and support that will improve patients' quality of life; as well as a national commitment towards finding cures for individuals with disabling neurological and psychiatric disorders.
