Science Discussion Forum

Welcome to the ACNP Science Discussion Forum. This feature is a fully public forum to enable discussion and comment by anyone about selected articles and presentations appearing in scientific journals, including our own journal, Neuropsychopharmacology, and media/Internet presentations. The Forum anticipates stimulating scholarly and collegial interactive discussions between authors, participants, producers, readers, or viewers of featured content and other scientists and researchers, with the intended aim of sharing such open dialogue with the public eager to be informed about and contribute to real-time scientific debate relating to research advances in psychiatric illness. This Forum is moderated of course, so there might be a short delay between promoting a comment on the website and its appearance in the discussion.

In a special edition of the ACNP President's Blog for August 2012, Dr. John Krystal provides a response to two articles published in the New York Review of Books by Marcia Angell, former editor of the New England Journal of Medicine, that criticize the fields of psychiatry and psychopharmacology.  Please provide your own commentary on either Marcia Angell's articles or on John Krystal's response at the very end of this special blog.
