Activation of c-fos mRNA production immediately precedes production of NT-NMN primary transcripts. This is followed by a steady increase over 7 hr in cytoplasmic mRNA for NT and NMN, which does not result in peak immunoreactive concentrations until around 16 hr after the initial haloperidol exposure.
