While there is a good correspondence between D1 receptor mRNA expression and D1 receptor binding in the caudate-putamen (CPU), nucleus accumbens, and olfactory tubercle, there is a lack of correspondence in the substantia nigra (SN), where high levels of D1 receptor binding are observed and no D1 receptor mRNA.
